Charing Cross
Leader: John Stewart
Meets on: Thursday 7.45 pm
The Charing Cross group has restarted its new session. We have continued in the same way as before, using a study book on Ephesians. This study will coincide with a short series that Stewart Hendrie will be giving on Ephesians during Jack’s sabbatical. It turns out we have studied this passage before in our housegroup but people seem happy to revisit this passage.
This session already four people have led the group in the past four weeks and this is encouraging. I feel the need for help and it is forthcoming.
We have a strong sense of community which is based on the love and cuddles which Babs gives in abundance. This is not a bad thing because we have had the joy of welcoming strangers who have become our friends.
In our thoughts and prayers we could learn to be more outward looking and it is possible to say we are a bit set in our ways. I do not have the sense of danger or of adventure which sometimes could be injected into proceedings and I think that might be a lack on my part. I have been doing this for several years now but no sign of a sabbatical.
I am trying to think of an animal which would represent what our group is like. Something slow and friendly, which justs keeps plodding on. Perhaps a Clydesdale horse is a picture of what we are. I think of Clydesdale horses with admiration for their strength and placid nature. Just a thought.
